Scouting Report

  • Overall: Dominate GG team. They have won every event they have entered and show no signs of slowing down. On paper, this team may not be the best. But they always perform when it counts. Can anyone take them down?
  • Bowling: J will need to lead this team in bowling. The other 3 should be solid but nothing amazing.
  • Softball Homerun Derby: Carley can mash and the others are just consistent - giving them a top 3 finish nearly every time.
  • Basketball Sure Shot: Great shooting team when Pip is in uniform.
  • Golf: So much for middle of the pack. Drew brought these guys over the hump and led them to 2nd place in B/N this past event.
  • Texas Hold'em: All good players with tons of experience. Will they come in with a strategy? Or will they each play to win it?

    Justin Carley
  • Overall: This Captain has very few weaknesses. If there is one it's bowling. Played college basketball, baseball and golf. If you look up 'Getaway Gamer' in the dictionary there is a picture of Justin Carley.
  • Bowling: Average Bowler and has bowled in a couple of recreation leagues for fun. Averages about 160 but didn't break 150 in Pekin.
  • Softball Homerun Derby: Can hit the 16 inch ball a mile. Ran away with the Pekin individual HR Derby title and carried their team to 1st place as well. His 61 might be tough to ever beat...
  • Basketball Sure Shot: Good shooter. Played PG in college but is still a good shooter when left open. Won the Pekin Sure Shot title scoring 115 in the two rounds.
  • Golf: Good golfer with a 6 handicap. Helped the All In Boys to a 4th place golf finish in Pekin.
  • Texas Hold'em: Good hold em player, but anything can happen with poker! Not a great showing in Pekin.

  • Tony Pippin
  • Overall: Overall talented gamer. Has the skills to pay the billz in Sure Shot. Is solid at golf and hold'em as well.
  • Bowling: Bowled a 135 and 94 in Pekin placing him in the bottom 10 in bowling. Takes a hit on this rating!
  • Softball Homerun Derby: Avid baseball player - but can this lefty hit the long ball?
  • Basketball Sure Shot: One of the purest shooters in the game. All State highschool player and a specialized long range shooter in college. Placed 2nd in Pekin with 110.
  • Golf: Has some game on the course. Definitely plays the game a lot and will contribute a lot of great shots.
  • Texas Hold'em: Streaky hold'em player that can knock off any tournament at any time. Placed middle of the pack in Pekin due to some strategic team play.

  • J Brown
  • Overall: 15 years ago J would have dominated Getaway Games. He was the surprise of Pekin games with a 6th overall individual rank just missing the All-Gamer team.
  • Bowling: We've heard through the grapevine that he has some bowling skills! A disappointing Pekin outing still placed him 6th overall.
  • Softball Homerun Derby: Maybe in the 1990's he was smashing homeruns. But this is 2007! He will hit a handful of 1 pointers and we hear he is training hard to hit some 2 pointers!
  • Basketball Sure Shot: With a little practice he can hit some shots. Middle of the pack in Pekin but can see some improvement for Normal.
  • Golf: Good thing it's best ball.
  • Texas Hold'em: Has lot's of hold'em experience and proved it in Pekin with a 10th place finish.

  • Scott Mervis
  • Overall: Very competitive gamer and a well rounded athlete. Look for Scott to have a good time and expect to win in every event he plays in.
  • Bowling: Grew up in a bowling family but doesn't play much anymore. Our scouts say 150-160 is what we should expect.
  • Softball Homerun Derby: Was a lights out pitcher in Pekin but might get a chance to swing the bat in Normal!
  • Basketball Sure Shot: Pretty darn good basketball player for his size. Should do pretty well in this event.
  • Golf: Only been golfing for 6 years so sometimes his golf swing turns into a baseball swing. Good enough to contribute though.
  • Texas Hold'em: Should do very well in this event. Been playing way before the hold'em wave hit. Spent many hours playing online and in vegas.
