Gamer Spotlight
Today's gamer spotlight is Kevin Hammer of team Dynasty. Kevin competed in the Bloomington/Normal event in 2007 and is planning on being back for 2008 action. He is a force to be reckonned with finishing 3rd in HR Derby and 8th in Sure Shot. If he improves that bowling game - LOOOOOOK OUT!

Champaign Event postponed
Possibly later this fall or 2009
We are sorry to announce that the Champaign 2008 event has been postponed. We will not be holding the June 28th event. Sorry if it caused any problems for you teams that were planning on being in - but we just aren't getting the turnout from this city that we expect. The exciting news is, we want you teams that were interested in Champaign to play in Bloomington/Normal on August 16th. This event should be our largest event to date and a lot of fun.
If you have any questions regarding the cancellation of the Champaign event on June 28th - please email us at events@getawaygames.net!
Bloomington/Normal Registration
The Bloomington/Normal, IL event is coming up fast and open for registration. If you are going to play in this event - PLEASE - get your captain signed up now. This event truly is filling up faster than normal so do not miss out. All it takes is your captain to fill out a quick online form and NO downpayment. We will get your team payment and other player details later. If you are a "returning" team - all you need to do is email events@getawaygames.net and we can add your team from a previous event, allowing you to change players as needed.
The Normal, IL event is a really fun event because the Sure Shot is at Horton Fieldhouse gyms and the Softball HR Derby is at the Illinois State Baseball and Softball fields. First class facilities. Also, if you know anyone in the area that might like this - please refer them to our website and get them interested. We appreciate everyones help.
Don't forget, there is a chance to win $10,000 by hitting a hole in one at Ironwood Golf Course. Can you do it and CASH in? Be a GAMER!

We now have an "official" Gamer Referral Program. Many of you wanted some kind of reward for inviting other gamers and teams to play. Now you have it.
Recruit a team to sign up and we will mail you a $50 Getaway Games gift certificate. That is nearly half off your next entry. Get two teams to enter and you are basically playing for free. Sound like a deal? It is.
All four gamers from the "new" team must be new to Getaway Games.
The recruited team must identify you as the referral source. If they don't fill that out online - we will ask and be sure they use your name.
