Gamer Spotlight
Today's gamer spotlight is Wes Adams of THE rake. Wes is a Getaway Games regular. He is currently ranked 8th in GG Points and is ready to go for Pekin 2008 again. Wes is a solid bowler and a for sure top 5 Hold'em player. Wes might not be the flashiest of gamers, but he's a consistent force to deal with.

Oswego Event in 2 days
 The Oswego, IL event and Oswego East Boys Basketball fundraiser is just two days away. The field is set with 10 teams competing for the coveted Getaway Games Cup. Getaway Games staff will be out at Buffalo Wild Wings in Oswego from 6-9 tomorrow evening for any of you "gamers" that want to chill and enjoy a pre-event drink. Remember, tell your family and friends to logon to GetawayGames.net during the day on Saturday for up to date stats and scores.
Final Pekin Event Deadline

The 2008 Pekin event is just over 1 week away. The event is starting to take shape but we are still looking for a few more "good teams". Are you that team? We have ordered extra tshirts in anticipation that a few more teams are going to sign up. As they say at Nike, JUST DO IT! Wednesday, May 28th at midnight is the last deadline for registration. All you have to do to register is fill out your captain info - it takes a few minutes! Don't miss this true Getaway day and a chance at fabulous sports prizes and fun.
A little challenge for you captains on the verge of signing up... Sign up this week and our staff buys your first drink at the Hold'em tourney on Saturday! What a deal!!! Of course you'll have to remind us when the time has come. Who will be the NEW Getaway Games champion in Central Illinois?
